The Spy Who Loved Me

ASSERT’s The Spy Who Loved Me Experience is a 3-hour spy movie-inspired workshop in which you will learn the fighting techniques shown in movies like John Wick, Atomic Blonde, The Bourne Identity, the Bond films and more. We’ll select a few moves to teach you, but as a participant, you can send us clips of fight scenes you’d like to learn. You’ll be working with your partner throughout the evening.

We’ll close the evening with some super cool warrior demos from each couple and celebrate with a champagne toast.

The event is perfect for couple’s wanting to start their Valentine’s celebrations with a little spicy fun!

The experience is LGBTQ+ friendly.

1. Fun. Especially as the start to your Valentine’s Day celebrations! Kick things off with a bit of spice and a lot of attitude.
2. Self-Defense. As we train the movie fight scenes, we’ll give you actual self-defense based versions that you can use in your everyday life.
3. Ultimate Stress Relief. There is nothing better to reduce stress than to feel like a total bad a$$ and hit things really hard.
4. Doing Good. This event is a fundraiser for ASSERT Empowerment Self-Defense, a Nashville-based 501(c)3 organization that works to dismantle gender-, ethnic-, and racial-based inequities through Empowerment Self Defense education and practice.

The workshop is $150 per couple. This is a fundraising event for ASSERT Empowerment Self Defense, a Nashville 501(c)3 organization dedicated to empowering marginalized communities and helping to eradicate old traditional standards of inequity.

Please wear comfortable clothing. Pre-registration is available below and is required as space is limited.

Because our program has been developed with the help of Mental Health Professionals, Self Defense Industry Leaders, Legal Experts, and extensive research into Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and Law Enforcement statistics, procedures, definitions, and training, we have been able to create a system that allows all students, of any age, gender, and physical capability, to effectively utilize the unique techniques and materials presented during our course work.

Pandemic Safety Protocols:

We recommend that you sign up as a group of at least 2 people as you will be training in safety bubbles. If you sign up with a family member or trusted friend, this will be the person that you train with throughout the workshop. Masks must be worn at all times while in the building. A recent negative Covid-19 test (within 4 days prior to the workshop) or a full 14-day quarantine is also required. You must sign the Covid-19 and Training Waivers before the event.
